I,m just on my second week of taking paxil, so far noting no difference.

Im on 20mg and am down to 75mg on effexer xr.

My anxiety gets quite strong quite quickly and has made not possible at the momment.

My question is how long does it take to work and would 60mg as to 40mg be more appropiate.

I hve both GAD and deppression.

Everyone is different in how quickly they respond to medication, so it's hard to tell whether you should be seeing a difference at this point. Your doctor is really the one who should determine what the dosage should be. You might want to talk to him or her if you're not happy with how things are progressing.
