Q: What do you do when you have kids and just want to die , not caring what happens to them?

I suffer from post partum depression, severe depression, and post traumatic stress disorder,. I have not seen or spoken to my therapist in over 2 months and am no longer permitted to take a working anti depressant.  I have also been feeling very paranoid, with anxiety attacks, minor forms.  I have been having migraines and infrequent black outs.

I am sorry you are having such a hard time, I have had all of the things you mention.  Can I ask why you haven't seen your therapist in so long and are not permitted to take a working antidepressant?  It seems clear to me that you most certainly need professional help.  Do you need to find a new therapist?  It would help if I knew a little more about why you are not going to therapy when you need it most.  Hope you will write back.  You know that it's your depression talking when you say you don't care what happens to your kids because I'm pretty sure there's a little piece of you somewhere that cares very much about them.  Can you get some help in caring for them?  I do know what you are going through and I can't say strongly enough that somehow, somewhere, you need to get some professional help.  Please let me know how you're doing.

DeeDee,

I can related to your problems. You need to talk to someone who can help you put your situation into perspective. Doesn't have to be a therapist if you're more comfortable with someone else. I recently made what I consider a big breakthrough with my therapy by admitting that I don't want to live. It's my family that keeps me going but I needed a therapist to help me to understand and see the whole picture objectively.

Please go talk to someone.
