can wellbutrin be used as a weight lose pill

I have heard that it can sometimes help with quitting smoking.

Never heard of weight loss. Most antidepressant cause weight gain.

I did a search and there is quite a bit of talk about it.

I dont know I have been onm that and I gained weight My last weigh in at the VA outpatient clinic was 190 and I am 56'-8" I am not fat but I have gained weight I had to go from  a 34 to a 36 now I hust broiught a pair of pants at a thrift store for 4.50 taht were 38 waist and that did bother me but if you look at my medications some of them do make me fain weight in not narmal ways that I would be plus I am disablied and thaty cuts back on my excercise when I try and get outb inthe cold I have arthrities but I do try and get out anyway I guess It would be better if I( had a excercise place at my apartemnts but I am looking into moving to a place that has a gym and a pool, I live in a apartemnt now I dont have a clubhouse or a pool or anything socil here I have been here 1 1/2 years ands I dont know anyone here yet, There is no social enviromentb here at all.

Wellbutrin will effect everyone differently, and it will not be a magic bullet by any means, but it can be used as a weight loss pill for some.  It helps to curb cravings of all sorts and raises one's energy levels slightly.  Between the upped energy, the ability to abstain more often from tempting treats, the possibility is certainly there.  I lost 45lbs by doing the normal calorie intake counting and exercising routine.  Wellbutrin just gave me that little extra edge that made my efforts stick.
