Q: Overall, is Lamektal better than Lithium considering all the adverse side effects?
Hi. Hope I can help. I took lamektal (2005) after taking lithium for about 5 years. It cut out the depression but let out the manic crazy sex animal. Needless to say it didn't work for me since the swings were back. Maybe if you start out with it from the beginning it might not be so bad. See you psychiatrist and see what they say. I feel that lithium overall is the best because it has treated me right for 9 years and I have my thyroid blood etc checked once a year. That's it,once a year and I am perfectly healthy with NO side effects.
