The cymbalta is causing me to gain weight, is there any other medicine in the same category - I am very happy with cymbalta - which doesn't cause weight gain?

Hi there
The best person to ask about this is your doctor. It is always a hard decision to change medications but it is true that many medications can cause weight gain.
I wrote a two part series about antidepressants and weight which you may wish to read.
Part One: Will my Antidepressants Make me Gain Weight?
Part Two: Which Antidepressants are Least Likely to Make me Gain Weight?
Off the top of my head I remember the literature saying that Wellbutrin was one antidepressant which had a low incidence of weight gain as a side effect. However...you should know that there are people who talk about weight gain as a side effect to all the medications. Everyone will react differently.
Discuss this with your doctor and see what he or she suggests. Let us know what happens!
