Hi, Marianne.  I have never heard of Lexapro prescribed because of a brain aneurysm.  What kind of doctor put you on it?  Are you able to talk to this doctor about it yourself?  I think you should talk to the doctor and ask what this drug does for an aneurysm.  Or maybe your mother thought you were depressed or anxious but wanted you to believe it was because of the aneurysm.  When a depressed person takes Lexapro, you would probably be on it for a few months at the very least and possibly for years.  If you're not depressed, I'm not sure why you'd take it.

If I'm missing something here, let me know, but I'd be curious to hear more about this.

Am on it because of depression.  But that was several years ago.  I have accepted where I am (NOW:  FOURTH location, since 05) and I know I am here to stay until She has to 'turn me over' to my youngest brother or I go broke.  (She's 80)  I don't LIKE being on ANY med I don't NEED to LIVE.  I won't 'graduate' to a life ANYWHERE but here until, as my Conservator, mother who is 80, 'leaves' me to my baby brother in Texas/

Marianne, I don't know the circumstances for your needing a conservator, but anyone has the right to go to the court and request the end of a conservatorship or to request a different conservator.  Your county social worker should be able to help you and advise you about this, or someone in your county's social services department could help you.

I wish you the best.  Perhaps the Lexapro is helping you more than you think, considering the situation in which you live.  It may be helping you avoid more episodes of depression.
