If prozac worked for 3 years on a teenager, but then stopped, Would it work again?
Is it likely that prozac would work again on someone who stopped taking it over a year ago because it stopped working after 3 years?
Well Wintergreen...there is only one way to find out and that is to try it again. It does seem that with some of these anti-depressants, you build up a tolerance for them.
Talk to your doctor about taking it...and think about what dosage is appropriate. And also have Plan B in mind if the Prozac doesn't work again.
Let us know what happens...I am very curious. Hopefully others can chime in with their experience.

Hello, wintergreen,
I don't have any experience with Prozac, but I can tell you that I've had other medications stop working, but then work again after a break from them.
Prozac is rather infamous for working for a while, then not working. The phrase "Prozac poop-out" is sometimes used, even when the medication being discussed isn't Prozac.
Good luck,
Teri
