Q: can stress or depressed cause migranes?

Can being depressed or upset about something cause migranes?

No. Migraine is a genetic neurological disease caused by genetics and overactive neurons in the brain.

 

That said, there's a huge difference between the cause of the disease and triggering individual Migraine attacks. Depression cannot trigger Migraines. There's still some controversy over whether or not stress is a trigger. The most prevalent thought on this is that stress itself is NOT a trigger, but it does make Migraineurs more susceptible to their other triggers.
