Hello!

Depression is a personal health issue for me...

Wednesday, May 07, 2008

No. Migraine is a genetic neurological disease caused by genetics and overactive neurons in the brain.

That said, there's a huge difference between the cause of the disease and triggering individual Migraine attacks. Depression cannot trigger Migraines. There's still some controversy over whether or not stress is a trigger. The most prevalent thought on this is that stress itself is NOT a trigger, but it does make Migraineurs more susceptible to their other triggers. For more information on this, see Is Stress A Migraine Trigger?

Hope this helps!
