Q: i am on wellbutrin, effexor, paxil- have sudden short term memory loss, concentration problems-HELP

I've added SSRIs over the years as each "pooped out". Now all 3 seem to have stopped working- I have also begun to notice a serious short term memory loss- and lack of concentration- so bad I am making serious mistakes at work. I also have noticed some language mixups- spelling Know- now or something like that- I'm only 55- can this be 1) ALZ 2) depression & stress 3) toxicity from something? 4) drug side affect?

BUT WHAT COULD THAT BE? It came on fairly quickly & is getting worse fairly quickly- which doesnt seem like ALZ as I've seen it... in my mother.

I am really scared- i cant afford to make more mistakes like I have recently at work- i could not believe what I messed up- and had no idea i had- so every day is a scary experience. is this depression, stress =- it seems more like something else- i've been depressed most of my life and never had this- HELP

Dear DDS,

I know you posted this looking for answers, but you really need to call your doctor about this. I've honestly not seen this many SSRIs prescribed to be taken together. Your doctor may need to adjust your medications, but that's something that only your doctor can address.

Please, be kind to yourself and call your doctor ASAP.

Good luck,

Teri

Hi DDS, I know you are seeking answer. I do not have it, but I am writing this message to let you know I have the same questions. I've been on Paxil for about 15 mths due to postpartum depression with anxiety (20 mig). Apart from commonly described sideeffects like sleepyness, dizziness, or decreased libido, recently I started experiencing seriouse short term memory problems. I misplace things, do not remember names, have difficulty calculating in mind (which has never been a problem before - i am a math teacher), do  not remeber tasks for the day, and do not remember most recent activities I did. Could it be ALZ? My grandmother had ALZ. The only thing is that this started happening suddenly and alsways comes with increased drawziness.

I will be seeing a doctor soon.

E.
