Q: Has anyone had success with Lexapro on a dose higher than 20mg?

I have severe depression and nothing seems to work. You name it; I've probably tried it. I've heard aawesome things about Lexapro. I've been on it for over 6 weeks (2 weeks on 20 mg), but this doesn't seem to be helping. Can you go higher? Is anyone on a higher dose than 20mg that is experiencing relief? Thank you so much.

I was on lexapro and just recently said goodbye to it. It helped with my anxiety when I needed it, but I noticed that it seemed to be drowning my feelings(physically). I am not a good example cause of the situation I was in. I just like to warn people to be very carefull of what medications you are mixing and taking cause I had a really bad experience.

You can always go higher. I wouldnt recomend it cause of the withdrawal warnings related to lexapro. Read up on things before you take them getting off of them can be a horrible experience.

P.S. I was only taking half a 10mg pill and it was hrd to stop.

Good luck,

Pat

I was on 40mg of Lexapro for years and was just recently taken off. I believe 40mg is the max on that drug though. You can always add drugs with Lexapro. Just read up on it, pay attention to how you feel and side effects, and report anything that's off to your Dr. I wish you the best of luck!
