Seasonal Affective Disorder is characterized by periods of depression that seem to accompany season changes during the year. If symptoms are mild and do not interfere with daily living, "light therapy" may be the answer. Light therapy consists of exposure to bright flourescent light for specified duration, reversing the brain's rejection of dark winter months. If the depression is severe enough, consult a doctor.
