Suicidal thoughts can be an extreme form of depression. Individuals who may be on the brink of suicide may be most receptive to the use of medication for treatment, including anti-depressants. A higher dosage may be appropriate than for patients without suicidal thoughts, but a doctor should be consulted before increasing any dosages.
