Topamax may help alcoholics

New research suggests that Topomax may reduce symptoms of alcohol dependence in alcoholics. In a study of 371 people diagnosed with alcohol dependence, researchers gave the seizure and migraine med to half the patients and gave the other half a placebo. Patients who took Topomax had fewer heavy drinking days and were more likely to go extended periods of time without drinking than those who took a placebo. Read more »
