A small study at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran has found that the herbal remedy St. John's wort may ease menopausal hot flashes. Previous studies have found that the herb had an effect on menopause symptoms, but these studies concentrated on St. John's wort's impact on mood. But in this study, researchers found that women who took St. John's wort had a greater reduction in daily hot flashes than those who were given a placebo.
