Women who are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant should avoid taking the antidepressant Paxil, experts say. Doctors have found that Paxil raises the risk of certain birth defects. The doctors also recommend that any woman who has taken Paxil in early pregnancy should have tests done on her baby to check for heart trouble.
