Drugmaker Eli Lilly is reporting that its drug Cymbalta was effective at the long-term reduction of chronic low back pain in a new study. For the study, researchers assessed the long-term pain relief of 58 patients with lower back pain who had received Cymbalta in a previous stage of the trial. The scientists found that the patients experienced at least 30 percent reduction in pain from their baseline pain levels while taking the drug.
