Giving elderly people updated prescription eyeglasses not only improves their quality of life, it may lower their risk for depression. In a new study, nursing home residents who were given new eyeglasses reported better quality of life and fewer depressive symptoms than residents who were left with glasses that didn't have an updated prescription.
