Almost one in every five U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq suffers from migraines, researchers have found. And researchers say this group of veterans has nearly double the risk for depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other psychiatric troubles. Experts say that healthcare providers who see combat veterans for headaches should perform a mental-health screening to make sure any psychiatric conditions the vets may be suffering are identified and treated.
