Chronic insomnia puts people at risk for anxiety but not for depression, according to new research. Experts studied 25,130 Norwegian adults to determine that long-term sleep problems can lead to generalized anxiety disorder and even increase the risk of permanent disability. The same research found no evidence that insomnia was a risk factor for depression, however.
