A new study suggests that the antidepressant escitalopram (Cipralex, Lexapro) is better at treating symptoms of major depressive disorder than Cymbalta. Escitalopram is an allosteric serotonin reuptake inhibitor (ASRI). Researchers say this study demonstrates that ASRI meds such as escitalopram have advantages over other types of depression medications.
