A new report says that family-based therapy helps teenagers with bulimia more than individual supportive therapy. Supportive therapy examines emotional issues related to bulimia, while family therapy encourages parents to intervene. In the study, researchers found that the remission rate for patients in the family therapy group was twice as high as the remission rate for patients in the individual therapy group.
