The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned the makers of Xango, a tropical fruit beverage, to halt claims that the juice has "natural COX-2 inhibitor" effects. The juice's makers also claim that the purple mangosteen fruit in the drink helps prevent ailments like cancer, depression, and Alzheimer's disease. The FDA advised Utah-based Xango LLC that such claims are reserved for drugs and that their product is not proven to treat or prevent any diseases.
