Green tea may weaken bones

Drinking green tea may be good for your heart, but not for your bones, a new study has found. Animals who were given green tea extract for six weeks. Those who took the green tea had reduced femur and vertebral length, volume, mineral content, and cortical thickness, researchers found. Experts say this study suggests consumption of green tea could cause changes in bone microarchitecture and reduce bone size, but they caution that they are not sure if the tea affects humans' bones the same way.
