Results of a new study suggest that children as young as age three can suffer from depressive disorders. Previous research has suggested that about 2 percent of U.S. preschoolers are affected by depression. For this study, investigators followed the progress of 200 preschoolers, ages three to six, for up to two years, including 75 diagnosed with major depression.
