New research has found a link between violence and schizophrenia, but this link was even more pronounced when schizophrenia was accompanied by drug and alcohol abuse. But the scientists also found that the violence risk associated with schizophrenia and psychosis was no more pronounced than it was for people who abused drugs and alcohol and did not have the thought disorder.
