Paxil maker GlaxoSmithKline has agreed to pay several states $14 million to settle allegations that it blocked generic forms of Paxil, causing patients in those states to pay higher prices. GlaxoSmithKline was charged with filing frivolous patent-infringement lawsuits to allow it to extend Paxil's patent and thus keep generic versions of the drug off the market.
