Ketamine Information
New research published in the Archives of General Psychiatry has found that an infusion of the anesthetic ketamine can lift the mood of patients suffering from severe bipolar depression within minutes. In the small study of 18 patients, scientists found that severely depressed bipolar patients who were given an injection of ketamine saw improvements in their depressive symptoms within 40 minutes, and the effect lasted for at least three days.
