Medications That May Be Used In The Treatment Of Eating Disorders

Topamax may help sleep-eaters

Topamax, a drug used to treat epilepsy and migraines, may help patients with sleep-related eating disorder (SRED). Patients with SRED wake at night to eat compulsively and repetitively. Of the 25 patients studied, 17 appeared to respond positively to treatment with Topamax (known generically as topiramate). The study's author, a doctor at Harvard Medical School, called for a larger trial. Read more »
