Medicines That Can Help Depression

Omega-3 fish oils do not help depression, researchers say

Researchers say there is no convincing evidence that omega-3 fatty acids on their own can relieve depression symptoms. The review of previous studies also found little proof that the fatty acids boost the effects of antidepressant medicines. The fish-oil supplements do help regulate blood vessel activity and parts of the immune system, but they also can contain environmental toxins. Users should therefore be careful not to exceed the supplements' maximum recommended doses. Read more »
