A course of psychotherapy equal to $1,300 may improve psychological well-being more than a significant pay raise, English researchers say. An analysis of thousands of people found that found that people would need a pay raise of more than $41,000 to achieve the same boost in well-being. Researchers say the reason is that monetary compensation is often overvalued in society, while many do not understand that stable mental health has a powerful effect on happiness.
