Counties where antidepressants are prescribed more often have lower rates of suicide among children ages 5 to 14, a new study has found. The study's authors stopped short of saying that antidepressants were the cause of the lower suicide rates because other unrelated factors may have contributed to the results. But the researchers did find the findings significant because of recent reports that antidepressants like Paxil, Prozac, and Zoloft increased the incidence of suicidal thinking in teens.
