A new antidepressant has shown mixed results in new clinical trials. Drugmaker Targacept reported that its new treatment for acute depression, mecamylamine taken with Celexa, was effective in improving depression symptoms. But the trials failed to show conclusively that patients were able to achieve remission of their depression.
