Overweight teens who place a high value on being thin, and who read or think a lot about losing weight are likely to show signs of disordered eating, experts say. The study of almost 5,000 students found that girls were more likely to have disordered eating symptoms due to low self esteem and reduced exercise, while boys were prompted by depression and high fast food intake.
