Treatment On Major Depression

Study may yield effective treatments for major depression

A new study in the STAR*D depression trial has found that two different drug regimens are effective in treating major depression. Patients in the studies were given either Parnate (tranylcypromine) alone or Effexor (venlafaxine) plus Remeron (mirtazapine) to treat major depression symptoms. Both drug treatments were effective in moving some patients into remission, but the combination therapy had slightly higher remission rates. Read more »
