According to a new report, one in every 12 American teens ages 12 to 17 years experienced major depressive disorder (MDD) in the past year. Researchers found that females were more likely to suffer from MDD, with 12.7 percent of girls and 4.6 percent of boys reporting the condition. Investigators also found that 48.3 percent of these teens said MDD severely impaired their ability to function at school, home, work, or with friends. Read more »
