Amid warnings about Paxil and other selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and their link to increased suicide risk, some doctors are reasserting their belief that SSRIs do, in fact, prevent suicides. Researchers in a new study point to statistics that show that as the number of SSRI prescriptions has increased since the drugs were introduced in 1988, suicide rates have decreased. Read more »
