British researchers have found that the antidepressants Prozac (fluoxetine) and Celexa (citalopram) helped slow disease progression in people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). According to a new study at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, the two antidepressants appear to have anti-inflammatory effects in the body, which may account for their ability to inhibit the progress of RA.
