Depression after stroke can be debilitating

Australian researchers have found that depression stops stroke victims from returning to work almost as much as physical disability does. In a study of men who had returned to work after suffering a stroke, scientists found that men who had returned to work after six months were less likely to have depression than men who had not returned to their jobs. And only 30 percent of the patients suffering from post-stroke depression had received treatment for their psychiatric condition.  Read full story >
