Study: Anxiety, depression treatment helps long-term

People who take medications for depression or anxiety are less likely to suffer a relapse of these conditions in the future, a new Canadian study suggests. According to a press release from the University of Alberta, a team of the university's researchers looked at 200 people who were diagnosed with either depression or anxiety. Forty-five of these patients were taking medications for the conditions. Investigators found that those who were not using antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications were three times more likely to be suffering from depression or anxiety 10 years later.  Read full story >
