U.S. sets up Web site for recession mental health

The U.S. government’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has set up a Web site to help Americans get through the recession. The site, called “A Guide to Getting Through Tough Economic Times,” details health risks from layoffs, home foreclosures, and other economic turmoil. It also gives information on risks such as depression, anxiety, and compulsions such as over-eating or gambling. Visitors can also find tips for managing stress, as well as links to hotlines or centers for help with drugs and alcohol abuse or preventing suicide.  Read full story >
