Depression may hasten cancer death

Depression may rob cancer patients of years of life, a new study has found. Canadian researchers found a higher death rate among patients who reported being depressed, as well as among those who had been diagnosed with a depressive disorder. Experts say the study's results need to be verified with new studies, but they suggest that patients may benefit from psychological screening after their diagnosis.  Read full story >
