Stress, Anxiety Boost Pregnancy Depression Risk

According to a new study published in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, pregnant women who are stressed, who lack outside support, or who have an unintended pregnancy are more at risk for depression. The researchers also found that women who have a history of depression are more likely to experience the condition while pregnant. Depression during pregnancy has been linked to such conditions as preeclampsia, premature delivery, sleep disturbances and problems with mother-infant bonding.
