Too Little Sleep Linked to Early Death

An article published in the journal Sleep suggests that getting fewer than six hours of sleep per night may increase your risk of dying prematurely. An analysis of 16 studies on 1.3 million people found that those who got fewer than 6 hours of sleep were 12 percent more likely to die before the age of 65 than those who got a full night's sleep. Those who routinely got more than 9 hours per night were 30 percent more likely to die early. The study found that somewhere between 7 and 9 hours per night was optimal for most healthy adults.
