I think that your raised some awesome points... I still don't drive but once I finally decide to get my license I'm sure that I'll be terrified at first... as for the police... I'm really beginning to think that they should make asking some one if their diabetic part of their protocol...

Great point i agree. On my car i have life tag sticker that says "diabetic". So everytime i get pulled over, (which isn't that much!) they begin to back off and make sure i am ok before any tickets are given out!

Checking is SO important! I just turned 16 this July and finallly was able to get my begineers only one problem I had only been dxed with my Functional Hypoglycemia for a few months....Don't go get your license two months after dx wait at least 6 I know its a bummer but if you don't have the swing of looking after yourself during a low its not a good idea to try and stuff drivers ed in there between trying to figure out counting carbs!

 

Remember CHECK your blood sugar and double check! Ive taken a few practise drives without testing and nearly crashed the car before I got out the drive way!
