If you are diabetic and have to drive, you know how hard it can be. You have to check your blood suger before driving, while you are driving (at a stoplight of course) and after you drive. It can be a real pain.
I have had first-hand experiance of how hard it is to drive and have diabetes. My uncle, who is also a type 1 diabetic, was in a bad car accident due to having low blood sugar. The results were bad. When the cops came they thought he was drunk driving, but the fact is that he had low blood sugar.
The cop roughed him up and called for backup. It was getting bad, but lucky for my uncle the cop who came to assist the arresting cop knew about diabetes.
The cop asked my uncle, "are you diabetic?" He replied "yes!" If it had not have been for the second cop, who knows what would have happened.
It is very scary to D.W.D, so before you get into your car, check your blood sugar not only for your safety, but for others who are on the road as well. It is the worst feeling when you are driving along and all of a sudden you have low blood sugar. You get dizzy and your eyesight starts to go! Make sure you stock up on glucose tabs, and adding cola to it helps a lot and could very well save your life!
