Hey Matt
So your best friend has diabetes, too?! That's awesome! Or maybe it isn't? I've never had a close friend who had diabetes---only occassional acquaintances at diabetes events, etc. Is it a good or bad thing to have a best friend with diabetes?
Meanwhile, I've definitely heard that it's much more difficult for guys to talk about diabetes with their friends, so your situation is not all that different from how the average male approaches their diabetes care ---and SHEESH, based on how that teacher treated you, I don't blame you for wanting to keep it to yourself!
I definitely purposefully keep my diabetes from coming up in conversations with people sometimes that don't know me well because of all the back-seat driving and telling me what to do! Drives. Me. Nuts.
