I am a 35 year old mother of three with my youngest son having Type 1 Diabetes.  He was diagnosed at the age of five on Feb 16, 2008 and it is a day I will not ever forget.  We have learned to live with diabetes and it rarely ever slows my son down but he has to live with it every time he checks his sugar, every carb we count, every time we have to change his infusion site (he is a pump user like Nick Jonas).  He is constantly reminded he is a little different but he is also constantly reminded that diabetes does not control him and that he just happens to be a boy with diabetes.  I still cry every now and then but not as much as I use to. I just want to thank Nick Jonas for his efforts to bring more attention to diabetes and for lobbying for more research.  In my heart I know a cure WILL be found.  Thank you Nick.  Aimee M, Sparta TN.
