hi im rick and im an alcoholic, and a diabetic. ive been sober for 5 years, i stopped drinking at 21. ive had diabetes since i was 5 months old. if youre a diabetic, id really recommend staying away from any drugs or alcohol, if you can. 26 years of diabetes, and a drinking and drug problem= a shorter life span. its taken me the past five years to finally get remotely close to the health i want to be in. and thats attempting to reverse liver damage, kidney damage, eye damage, overcome the addiction, lower my cholesterol, lower my A1C, and get in good shape. this isnt exactly expert advice, im not an expert, im a diabetic. ive seen the ups and downs, and ins and outs. i started off just "drinking with my buddies" back in high school. it turned into a lot worse than i ever wanted. fortunately today things are better than i ever could have imagined. trust me, if you can, try to avoid that path.
