ASK GINGER - Can I just test out the low-carb diet for a few days and see what happens?

Hi Ginger,

I know I can't do the low-carb diet for a long time, but I'm wondering if there's a benefit to doing it for just a little while? There are so many different opinions about it, and I kind of want to see what happens? Is it worth it to try for just a little while?

Hey Beth,

Definitely! You're right, there is a neverending debate between a variety of people on how many carbs you need, how healthy it is to decrease carbs, increase carbs, microwave your carbs. From my own research, knowledge, and experience, I’m going to explain to you why I believe every person with diabetes should eat a low-carb diet for at least one week purely to see the impact it has on their BG (blood glucose) levels and insulin needs. Consider it a science experiment.

Hello everyone
