What helps you on that bad day with life and/or diabetes??? Is it something as easy as taking a jog around the block or more complicated like having to take long periods of time to get past it? Does it matter? I don't think so...

Does a person you know really understand? Do they make you feel better once you've vented your feelings and emotions?

What about music? Does it allow you to focus? Or does it make you think too hard about the situation at hand?

When you think about these questions and anwer them to yourself is the response clear or kinda muffled? In my personal opinion, things that help you get through your day to day life with diabetes are ones that should be held onto for dear life.

It's so easy to just slip up and make a mistake, but if you surround yourself with helpful things then it's a little harder to let that happen. My point in all of this craziness is that diabetes is awful and never gets any better; however, the little things make all the difference.

Even if the situation I'm going through has nothing to do with diabetes, things like venting to my mom and best friend, blasting music through my iPod, and just plain relaxing help get me back in control. Just remember, none of us are alone and it's a great comfort to have someone that understands exactly what your going through to talk to.

I went through a time in my life a few years ago where I didn't know this sort of little stuff would help me. And while experiencing this, my diabetes suffered greatly. It doesn't have to start out a problem with diabetes, but it can easily turn into one.

Why do it alone? Why suffer if it doesn't have to be that way?

I believe everything happens for a reason... There is always a light at the end of the tunnel... We can start by emmitting sparks... But a cure is the light we are all dreaming, hoping, wishing, and looking for...
